I booked Nicole and Charlie's February 2021 wedding in January of 2020 on referral from a previous bride. For me, that's always the best booking because it is confirmation of the work we do. Little did we know we would be facing a global pandemic. After a long year of a lot of stress, they were fortunate to be able to have their originally planned wedding.
Nicole and Charlie wanted to keep the planning and details as simple and stress free as possible given the circumstances. The Birchwood was the perfect location for that. The ballroom is classic and elegant requiring very little additional decor to set the stage for a beautiful event. The ceremony was held in the ballroom and then the room was flipped for the reception.
We repurposed the large floral arrangements used during the ceremony by moving them to flank the sweetheart table and the aisle markers were repurposed to create a garland affect. We also used them on the gift table and dessert bar. This is a great way to manage your floral budget and get the most out of your arrangements. Nicole chose to use primarily candles as her table centerpieces. The candles and pale pink uplighting around the room provided a soft warm glow.
Instead of a traditional wedding cake, they had The Birchwood provide a variety of mini-desserts for their guests. Easy grab and go sizes kept guests on the dance floor. When it was time to depart, they offered their guests the cutest bags of popcorn as favors. The perfect snack to munch on while walking back to the car or the next day while recapping all the fun that was had the night before.
We are so happy Nicole and Charlie did not have to delay their wedding plans and are now the new Mr. and Mrs, Sutton and we are grateful they put their trust in EventFull Weddings.
