Baby In Bloom, A Modern Twist on a Baby Shower

We design and plan all kinds of special events related to weddings from the proposal to the farewell brunch. But when Shelby learned she was pregnant that opened the door to our first luxury baby shower. A baby shower is not much different than a wedding shower really with all the same elements.

As soon as we learned the baby's sex we were off and running with the plans. Shelby wanted a more modern take on her baby shower and we found the perfect inspiration from a linen pattern at La Tavola Fine Linen Rental. We chose the waterfront room at Jackson's Bistro as the venue. The views are stunning overlooking downtown Tampa, the bay and Sail Pavilion and the food was fantastic.

The theme was Baby in Bloom so we ran with the floral and spring theme. The green boxwood backdrop from Gabro Events was perfect for photos with family and friends. We embellished it with a balloon garland and lots of multicolored flowers. The Moody Groovy brought in an amazing peacock chair for Shelby to sit in while she opened her gifts. A common debate is should the guest of honor open presents at the shower or later? Admittedly it can be boring especially at a large event. At both Shelby's wedding shower and baby shower we plaid a version of Bingo to engage guests in the process. Everyone enjoys it and there's a prize of course!

We chose white tablecloths to allow the napkins to pop and rented pink vintage glassware and pink and gold flatware from Treasury Rental. Save the Date Florist designed all the beautiful bud vases for the centerpieces and they doubled as the favors. Anastasia Mikulski Designs created hand painted custom designed invitations and favor cards that matched the color and floral theme perfectly. To compliment the modern geometric pattern on the napkins, we used acrylic ghost chairs from Gabro Events.

Using cloches purchased from Ikea, I made the seating assignment display again keeping with the spring floral theme. Shelby's grandmother painted the welcome sign making it an extra special addition.

The sweets table was one of my favorite stations. The balloons are just so happy aren't they? Sweetly Dipped Confections created the cutest cake pops with little gold baby feet. The doughnut "cake" came from Local Mini Doughnut Co and I made the sugar cookies. Shelby grew up making these cookies so they are a must at any special occassion.

Finally, all of these beautiful photos were taken by Stephanie Lanni of Stephanie Lanni Photography. Thank you Stephanie for creating beautiful photos for us to reflect on in the future. They are priceless.
